What Are We Reading FIRST?!

Image
HOME Do you remember the magic of Saturday mornings? Big bowls of cereal, cartoons on the TV, and the world feeling full of endless possibilities? Well, we’re here to bring that same excitement to YOU—but with an epic twist: comics! At Southfield’s SUPER Secret Comic Shop, we don’t just love stories. We LOVE superheroes, wild adventures, and fun that jumps right off the page! And today, we’re kicking off something extra special. Meet The Kinder Guardians: Let’s talk about "The Kinder Guardians" —a superhero team like no other! Imagine your favorite superheroes, but as kids, hilarious, and ready to save the day their own way. Think Muppet Babies meets the Justice League . Sounds awesome, right? Our first issue, "How Far is Up?!" focuses on three students, Pep -- our resident SPEEDSTER, and the Ultra Twins, Castor and Pollux.  Pep, the resident speedster, has a goal to run THROUGH the sky!  But, supporting it puts Ultra-Twins, Castor and Pollux at odds.  Is it better...

When Ninjas Attack

Image
HOME Not every grocery run goes according to plan… especially when your “customer service issue” comes dressed in ninja black! 🥷 Adria’s cool-under-pressure moment here is everything . One second she’s mid-call with Dr. Wonder, the next she’s ducking ninja stars and putting her shopping trip on hold. The best part? That calm little line about having a “customer service concern.” Only Mrs. Wonder could make a ninja ambush sound like something for the store manager to handle! Meanwhile, the reveal of who these shadowy shoppers really are? Totally spine-tingling. Zombies and ninjas?? That’s two-for-one chaos right there! Q&A:   If you suddenly found ninjas in your grocery aisle, would you (A) run for the exit, (B) grab the nearest baguette as a weapon, or (C) stay cool like Mrs. Wonder?? Breakfast of Wonders

Image
HOME Sometimes it’s the littlest errands that turn into the biggest stories. And for Mrs. Wonder, even the cereal aisle can hold a surprise or two. 🛒✨ We’ve all been there — hunting down that one box of cereal that always seems juuust out of reach. You can see Adria’s determination written all over her face (we feel you, Mrs. Wonder!). What makes this moment shine isn’t just her stretch for the top shelf, but the everyday warmth of a mom who’s trying to keep her family’s favorites stocked. It’s so relatable… though I don’t think any of our grocery runs have quite as many shadowy eyes watching from the next aisle over! 👀 Q&A:   What’s the ONE cereal your family can’t go without at breakfast?? Last, but NOT Least!

Image
HOME Every great family has a heart at its center — and for the Wonders, that’s Mrs. Adria Wonder ! 💖 While her husband might be off teaching classes from space (literally!) and her kids are always finding trouble of their own, Mrs. Wonder is the glue that keeps it all together. But don’t mistake her kindness for weakness — Adria’s got brains, bravery, and just the right mix of sass to stand toe-to-toe with whatever weirdness wanders into their world.   Q&A:  If YOU were part of the Wonder family, what kind of super-skill would your mom bring to the table? The Cometaurus Wasn’t a Theory… It Was a Team Effort.

Image
HOME Just when his class thought he was joking—Dr. Wonder drops a final truth bomb: Yes, the cometaurus is real. Yes, it’s right outside. And YES… it was captured by his wife . In the Wonder family, weird isn’t just possible—it’s personal. Dr. Wonder may be the voice behind the lecture, but clearly, Adria Wonder is the action hero behind the scenes. While students are still processing the reveal, Dr. Wonder simply waves hello, and continues class like nothing happened. Because for the Wonders… this is just Tuesday. Q&A:   What’s the coolest or weirdest thing your family has ever done that made others say, “No way—that’s not real!”? ( Bonus points if it involved science… or dinosaurs. ) Want to own your own copy?  You can order one from my online shop at          IndyPlanet.com.    Wonders of the Weird & Beyond #1 "Introducing"($6.50) Written by Victor Dandridge Art by Seth Damoose Wonders of the Weird & Beyond...

The One Where No One Believes the Genius

Image
HOME After delivering a mind-blowing lesson on imagination and intention, Dr. Wonder finally answers the question on everyone’s mind: “What were you staring at?” "What were you staring at," they asked? His answer? A giant, spacefaring, heat-eating dinosaur called a cometaurus. His students’ reaction? Laughter. Disbelief. Probably a meme or two. Dr. Wonder expected the doubt—after all, what’s more unbelievable than a prehistoric creature surfing cosmic waves outside your classroom window? But he’s not offended. In fact, he encourages the skepticism. Why? Because questioning the impossible is how science begins. Q&A:   What’s something so weird or unbelievable that you’d need proof to believe it? (A ghost? A time machine? A dinosaur on Saturn?) The Power of Intention... and The Circle of Life

Image
HOME   Dr. Wonder says the first step to creating your reality… is imagining it. That’s right—before rockets launch or dreams take flight, they start with a thought . And who better to explain that than a professor who’s literally out of this world? In today’s cosmic classroom, we’re learning how intention shapes reality. Think it. Believe it. Focus on it—and eventually, it starts to show up in your world. Of course, no deep lesson would be complete without a very important scientific reference: “It’s the Ciiiiiircle of Liiiife!” That’s right. Dr. Wonder may be brilliant—but he’s still got jokes. (And solid taste in musicals.) Q&A:   What’s one thing you’ve imagined or dreamed about… that actually came true? (Was it something big? Something small? Or something still in progress?) Focus: It's a Matter of Space!

Image
HOME Dr. Vincent Wonder’s lectures are usually out of this world—literally. But today? Let’s just say his head’s a little more in the clouds ... of Saturn. Dr. Wonder may be teaching from space, but today’s lesson hits a little closer to home: what you focus on, grows. Whether it's a science project, a big dream, or a galactic-sized goal, manifestation is all about putting your mind where your mission is. Just one question though... If he’s the one teaching about focus... what’s he so distracted by? Q&A:   If you could make anything real just by focusing on it, what would you choose—and why? (A new invention? A dream job? A moon base of your own?)
